In East Texas gas units can be as small as acres of spacing of formation drilled for example 40 acres for some cotton valley wells. A permitted is approved for a single well in 40 acre unit. The question---- is there deadline in time that more contiguous acres can not be added to the unit? after spuding of the single well? after production and divisional order done? Or can unit be added to anytime? Reason if added it would dilute the royalty to the initial mineral owners even if more wells could be drill. What's the law in Texas???
