Wondering if anyone has had Petrohawk let their primary lease term expire.  Or if your close, are they getting ready to drill?  Thanks.

I have a Petrohawk lease in which the primary term expires in April 2011. I received a pre-application notice in February 2010 to create a drilling unit and nothing since then. This is in T15n R14w Sec 29. Good Luck.
Same here. GL to you too.
Ronny & Bacon,

Jay is right, they won't let your lease expire.

Good luck to both of you.....
I have multiple leases with Petrohawk in Harrison County. The first ones are set to expire on March 28, 2011.

They have been working in a kind of checkerboard pattern to try and preserve these leases, but it keeps looking more and more like HK will be forced to forfeit these leases.

Perhaps they may be able to hold on to the leases from a last minute drilling permit or other legal maneuvering, but it will take til at least mid April 2011 to see how this will turn out.

Maybe letting leases expire would not be such a bad thing for some lessors...
You are right P.G. Expiration would be fine with me. Could possibly work out some much better terms in a future lease.
Yes! The need for ng will not just go away.. However, I wouldn't mind if my lease did...
I was one of those idiots who couldn't see the wisdom of paying more for legal advice than what my bonus offer was for before the Haynesville shale play news leaked out...
I can assure that if given another shot at this, those landmen will not find such a babe in the woods like they did the first time around..
Get em PG
Agree- having leases expire won't be such a bad deal for me-getting another sign on bonus will be better than nothing. Chevron's buyout of Atlas seems to set a trend. Petrohawk doesn't have the capital to wait this out. Bring in the big guns. I'm getting to that age where I hesitate to buy green bananas anymore.
