The latest issue of Foreign Affairs is finally covering the unconventional gas boom in the US, even mentioning the Haynesville directly. This is the first big article I've seen recently on the foreign policy aspects of the shale gas boom. One of the author’s main points is that the regional price discrepancies will start to disappear—“If trade is freely permitted, a difference between $4 per thousand cubic feet in New York and $10 per thousand cubic feet in Tokyo, for example, simply cannot survive.”
Anyone seeing evidence that may happen?
Article Details: “The Good News About Gas” Jan/Feb 2011 by John Deutch, MIT professor. I can email anyone the whole article if interested.
