I have property in shelby county leased with devon for two more yrs with 22.5% royalty and no extension in the J.B. Tutt A-752 survey. I've been told that this area is not looking good and probably won't be drilled. Thinking of selling but not sure if this is just a tactic to downplay the value or if it really isn't worth a whole lot of anything. Any insight would be appreciated.

Hey James,   We have minerals directly next to your own survey.    Sent you a direct message to your Inbox.

I have royalty interest in J B Tutt and Yarbrough surveys. There is a producing unit in the Nelson Howell survey which is adjacent to those surveys. Devon acquired well sites in Yarbrough as well as pipeline right of way before altering plans. Not sure what this means since I heard "they know its there"..........whatever that's worth. The gas wells in that area aren't great , but they are producing. Patience might be the better choice for now. There is a well pad off Hwy 87 between Tmpson and Center which was prepared. Why all the preparation and now nothing?

Our 3 year lease in the JB Tutt and Yarbrough surveys has expired so obiviously Devon had a change in plans. The adjacent unit in Nelson Howell is producing and HBP in that strata. There is a substantial gathering pipeline to that unit. That's all I know.
James-- unless your 80+ years old and no love one to leave it to I would not sell unless offer too big to turn down to give you excellent quality of life for remaining years.
My husband inherited mineral rights in the J.B. Tutt Survey A-725. We live in Alabama and we are trying to navigate our way through to find out information.  We have a lease with Devon until October. My husband is on disability and I lost my job after 16 years and have just now starting working again after a year and a half. As everyone knows times are tough, and we don't want to mess up due to the fact of not being aware.  We would appreciate any info anyone has as to what is happening in the area.
