Does anyone know (roughly) how many mcfe/day of gas a typical electric plant would consume?
Henry, a 600 MW combined cycle natural gas power plant would consume ~ 102 MMcf per day at 100% load.
Any word out of the Louisiana Public Service Commission regarding the contention between gas producers (EOG Resources of Houston) and (Dolet Hills) lignite mining? The Sept. 19th article in the Shreveport Times stated that Commissioner Jim Welsh would give them 30 days to work out an agreement.

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.

This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
