Can anyone comment on what would be considered an average gas analysis for wells in the Haynesville?

Van, the information is sketchy but an average type composition should be 97.3% methane, 0.2% ethane, 0.2% nitrogen and 2.3% CO2.

Much of the gas has up to 5-6% CO2 and many wells show up with 50 - 250 ppm H2S. But the gas is very lean with not much higher hydrocarbons than ethane

 

Marc, as I understand it depends on the area of the play as the northern area in Louisiana is much lower in CO2 and H2S content and may not require treatment.  Even some of the gas produced in much of the southern area is between 2% and 3% CO2 and requires minimal treatment.

Pal, I do not have any specific composition information for Haynesville Shale production in the Elm Grove area.  Generally information has indicated that the northern portion of the play area (including the Elm Grove Field) has lower CO2 and H2S content.
