The Shreveport, Bossier City and surrounding area has a number of nice tributes to honor military veterans. Noticing this, I took some photos of some of these special places to make a short Memorial Day video salute to the Veterans.

LP, THANK YOU for this posting. We all need to be reminded to remember all those who have made many sacrafices to ensure our FREEDOMS. I am hopeful we will NEVER forget and that we all remind our children, grandchildren and others why we should all celebrate this day and everyday.
I will be attending a service at a large National Cemetery which is only about 4 miles from my house. They have a wonderful ceremony honoring all veterans. I have attended everyone for the last 15 years and I am hopeful that all GHS members will pause to give thanks to those who have given so much to this GREAT COUNTRY.
In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of) nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
