I have inherited some royalties in the S O Pennington survey, Shelby Co. My mother bought them in 1943. I have a division order for the S.E. Lambert Unit #1. I cannot identify the well on the TRRC maps. There are some 23 wells in the Pennington survey and only one dry hole, all the rest are producing gas wells. I assume the TRRC maps are up to date and none of these wells are actually plugged long ago. Does any one recall a SE Lambert Unit #1 in this survey.

The one dry hole in the survey is API #419-30502. Is that the well?
Wow. You guys are something. Looks like I had best contact Grand Energy. Anyone happen to have their address. My dad worked for Southern Production when he bought the intrest in 1943. He lived in Florida at the time but later moved back to Alabama. Mom died in 1980 and dad in 88 and the royalty checks went astray. I was working in China for Plillips Pet until I etired in 1989 and my sisters husband looked after the royalties. Guess he lrt this one slip through the cracks. He had the file containing the 1943 conveyance from Lucy L. Ray.

What is a reciever lease. Also I am curious as to why any royalties did not wind up un the Texas Unclaimed sccount. I have found some monies there. There will also be a matter of back taxes.
My e-mail advised me that Kate Bloomfield sent me a reply but it was deleted for some reason.?? Kate?
John, I sent you an email. Check your inbox. Kat.
Thanks Kat. I looked up on Google and found what a Receiver lease is. Also found address of Grand Energy in Addison(Dallas). Looks like I have my work cut out. I talked to Sinclair in Salt Lake and they told me that they are not the same Sinclair that took over the Lambert Unit in 1957, but they also think that BP now has that interest. Got lots of checking to do. Still don't undertand why Texas Unclaimed does not have the royalty money.

Thanks Kat. Boy my learning curve here is straight up. The link was very helpful.
Did not Classic in turn sell their interest in the Joaquin field to XTO last year? I have a small interest in the Joaquin field that in last few years has gone KCS to HK to Maximus to Classic to now XTO.
This problem is getting way out of hand. I really don't know where to start. I am thinking that if I talk to the Shelby tax folks and pay the back taxes I will get a list of all of the wells involved and the taxes regarding each one. In Panola and Upton these tax lists led me to companies and wells on which I was payingtaxes but getting no royalty. Would be interested in suggestions. Looks like XTO is the best bet for starters.
Hardage--- Yep the Taylor unit is still Classic others sold to XTO. I agree courthouse records is place for need to know people to go find what they need to know
I live in Chattanooga TN so if/when I make a trip to Center I would really like to have everything in hand that I will need to see this thing through. The more I can understand before I get there the better off I will be.
QUESTION? If the operation of the Unit changed hands from Sinclair, to BP, to Classic, to XTO. Will the monies be held by each company or will the royalties flow into the court. None of these monies have found their way into Texas Unclaimed which I do not understand. All of the help so far presented by you folks is greatly appreciated and I hope if/when I come to Center , and this looks more likely all the time, that I can meet some of you face to face.
