I'm a big duck fan myself, but it looks like a Turkey for me tomorrow and chocolate cheesecake. Bon Appetite.

I know there has to be some unusual dishes being served up tomorrow...?

What's a mirilton? I wish I lived in the South this time of year. All the food I ate was traditional, turkey, dressing, etc. But not as tasty as Mom's and grandma's offerings as a kid. I had dinner with my in-laws in Wisconsin. They didn't know what a sweet potato pie is !?!
The Mirliton is also known as the Chayote Squash, Alligator Pear, Mango Squash and Vegetable Pear.

I was so excited the first time I found them in Shreveport/Bossier. They only appeared in the grocery stores here about 5 years ago.

You stuff them like a bell pepper, but their taste is much milder and somehow richer. But mainly its one of those foods that bring back memories of childhood.
Turkey, sweet potato casserole, dressing, gravy, cranberry sauce, two kinds of pies. My brother-in-law cooked most of it..Had t'giving dinner in Texas 2 weeks ago, my dtr in law cooked it. Grateful for GHS...friends & family....How soon are you coming back Rebel Roy?
I get home Dec. 19th.
We have turkey for thanksgiving, but for Christmas we have been eating turducken.
you have all made me hungry. I haven't had my Thanksgiving yet. Waiting for tomorrow. Ham and smoked turkey. At least I hope, brother is trying a new way to smoke it.........last years turkey ended up in the oven after he smoked it. Hope everyone has/had a great Thanksgiving.
