carter, this is no well permit listed for that section. What have you heard that makes you think there are plans to drill a horizontal well in that section?

That is not a well permit. That is an alternate unit well application. The application is to establish the surface and bottom hole location within the existing unit boundary in order to meet spacing regulations. An order will be approved for the location and then a well permit will likely be filed and approved. Mineral owners get notice for unit formations and alternate unit well applications but not for well permits. Usually a permit to drill will follow approval of the alternate unit well location.

Absolutely. Regardless of where the lateral is located within the section, or sections as many wells are now Cross Unit Laterals, all the mineral owners within the unit, or units, will share in the production and receive royalty payments.
