Can someone explain what this term means, "Make up and Marketing"? When I called CHK about a royality payment they explained the difference in what CHK paid and what I thought I should receive as "Make up and Marketing". This amounts to almost 20% difference in what the well produced and the royality I recieved. For example if you take the Volume the well produced and the price they listed on the check stub and multiply that times your royality interest from the division order there at times is a big difference and in total of about 20%

you may have been paid based on an estimated deck prior to a division order. Or there may have been a title error that came to light later, the discrepancy in what you were paid and should have been paid will be made up.
Thanks Baron, That is what I figured the person with CHK was referring to. Funny thing though, Never excepted a check due to the fact that there was obvious title errors and survey errors on the first division order. We finally got a corrected division order last month and recieve our first check with the supposedly correct payment decimel. CHK got 3 months correct out of 10. This well has been in production since July of 2009. It is so disappointing to continue to find errors in their work. I know several people feel that they are being taken advantage of. It is a shame that many people who would not know how to calculate their division interest to know if it is correct or not is going to be not going to be paid what they should be. It makes me wish that there was a government watch dog to protect the citizens of this area who may not have the ability to watch out for themselves.
