The funniest thing that I read was tales by Two Dogs and Jim Krow of taking leases in the field and the things that they encountered while doing so (whole new meaning of naked ownership).
Jay, that gives me a good feeling just reading about what you did for her too. What a kind hearted person you are. I love these kind of stories.
I've enoyed the varying types of personalities on the site and taking on the challenge of making this more than just a fly-by-night thing.
Keith,
It dang sure ain't fly -by- night!
parker. I have learned that some members will beat a dead horse even after it is reduced to nothing but hide and bones. The map above is a prime example.
Actually, any kids reading this stuff should be able to pass items on their iLEAP tests re. the geopolitical boundaries of N. LA as many times as that map has been presented. Folks in other states that don't understand our parish system should have a firm grasp on it by now, too.

I also gave a copy of that map to the group of Somali pirates as they headed west on I-20, before heading south on I-49, to go thwart the LNG tankers in the Gulf. Just in case that GPS from my previous probation didn't work.

i really like the discussions that give insight to other shalers lives. some of those are worst chores, song fitting to your life, living out loud, ect. its a diverse group here and you never know what to expect. this site is a success due to the members and their collective experiences and their willingness to share it with others.
thanks to all !

I also enjoy getting to know the members. It seems like even though our common denominator is learning about and sharing information concerning the Haynesville Shale, many of us have so many other similar interests to discuss. I particularly enjoy meeting the members and if I had to choose my favorite times here it would be events like the bowlathons, eating out together, meeting Keith and Anna last Christmas, the party for Cannie/Big Daddy.

I know many GHS.com members are O&G professionals and probably come here primarily to network and share industry updates but I appreciate the fact that Keith has made a concerted effort to create a multi-faceted online community where every member can participate and feel comfortable.

I can't understand why anyone gets offended by grayshale's maps. Gray never fights with anyone about it. Look at the present map he has posted. I'm curious where it came from and what it represents. That area may not be productive in the HS, but I won't be surprised if its prolific in some other zone. I'm crossing my fingers for gray.
Jay - I ask this sincerely & with the most respect for your opinion after reading many of your posts for the past year. In your opinion, and given the source & age of "gray something's" map, given that even Chesapeake & Petrohawk have (somewhat) conflicting maps in their presentations, what would you say would be the most accurate map to date? Then maybe we can get off this barbed-wire fence.

Thanks, much appreciated - :0)

I still like this map.
Wouldn't you think the southern reaches will be limited by problems with depth & temp. rather than the quality of the rock?

The Lithium Connection to Shale Drilling

Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…
