Trying to get a feel for the discussion format that fits the purposes of this site. The old one brought the most current discussion to the top, so when a discussion got heated and had alot of responses, it was on full display. The new category gives it by category topic. This way if someone wants to go have a politcal banter, they go to the proper category and it remains in that category. Here's the deal - I need to know what you all want. I know there was some initial distaste for the new format, but please, give it a week and then decide. Let me know what you think...now and then a week from now. If a strong majority would like to keep the old format - I'll gladly do it.

Not to get OT here but, it would be great if you could see more than 10 threads per page once you get in a category. I find it incredibly annoying to have to click through five pages when it it could all be on one. Having 40 pt. thread titles is totally unnecessary. Otherwise, fabulous job!

FYI, this site fits 100 threads per page. Makes it very easy to scan a ton of them quickly.

old way please
Hey, Bacon....large thread titles helps those of us with older eyes. :)
Hey, I gots old eyes too. If you can read the 12pt. type that your seeing right now you can read a 16pt. headline. The image didn't post at 100% (at least not for me). It was just illustrating that you can have 20 threads + your banner ads in an organized and easily readable layout (you scroll down for the other 80). Just a LOT of wasted space in the current setup. My .02¢ and stepping down. Carry on! One more thing... the site could be a lot snappier speed wise if it wasn't loading so many images. Now I'm done.. really.
Keith, I go to this site for only one reason... to see what's happening with topics related to "the shale". I recognize that others may want to talk politics and what's happening "elsewhere", but the further you can keep these discussions from me, the better I'll feel about it. "Thank you" for all you do for us!
Keith,
I like the old way. I try not to get caught at work looking at your site. It takes me to long the new way. LOL

I like the old format better, it was easier to read and keep up with current discussions. To be honest, with the new format I just click off the site.
Keith:

At this moment I prefer old format but will report in again after trying new one a while.

I like the old format.
I have older eyes but I can enlarge my own screen if I need to read better. I liked the idea of knowing what's hot & current in topics, If one of your monitor volunteers could steer political discussions to their proper place -- that would be great too. For right now I guess I'll vote for the old way. Maybe you could lighten up so many images....that' s my penny thought. Thank you so much for this site, it has been immeasurably helpful!

P.S. I think Bacon's illustration of the thread count is a bit too small.
Keith,
I like the way you have it right now.
