Penelope, it depends on the number of drilling pads (surface locations) are utilized for drilling the development wells.  I have seen up to three drilling rigs in one section to date.

Thank you Les. I have section 17 18 20 township 16N and range 10W

From a map sent to me from a Mr Robert Hutchinson. My well serial # 241444 is padded in sec 19 but the line goes through to sec 18. My other Two wells serial#243159 and serial#243110 look like they are both padded in Sec20. There is also another well padded in Sec 20 but it runs down into Sec 29 this well is serial#243637 if you could help me understand I would greatly appreciate your time. Mr Hutchinson got the map from the SONRIS site. I am new to the gas drilling experience and I am trying to learn the intricate workings of this business. Thank you again.

Penelope, you are correct that Ser #241444 was completed and producing from Section 18.

Are you asking about the number of drilling rigs in a section or the number of wells drilled and producing from a section?

Petrohawk, EG Plantation 18 #H1 Well, Serial #241444, S19(18)-T16N-R10W, Bossier Parish, 6963 Mcfd, 14/64" Choke, 7473 psi Flowing Pressure

Chesapeake, Cotswold 17 #H1 Well, Serial #243159, S20(17)-T16N-R10W
Chesapeake, Cotswold 20 #H1 Well, Serial #243110, S20-T16N-R10W
Chesapeake, Cotswold 29 #H1 Well, Serial #243637, S20(29)-T16N-R10W

Les, I am asking what is the largest amount of wells that can be placed per section.  I see that well #243673 is padded in Sec 20 but runs to Sec 29. Which does not make that mine am I correct.

Penelope, generally operators have indicated plans to drill up to 6-8 Haynesville Shale wells per section to fully develop the resource.  The Bossier Shale does not extend into your area but in the southern area where both Bossier Shale and Haynesville Shale are present operators may drill up to 12-16 wells per section.  This requires the Commission to grant applications for exceptional and alternate well locations.

Yes, Ser #243673 will be completed and produced from Section 29.
