Hi,

Do you know what is the material used for the pipelines between the shale gas wells and the gas processing plant? steel or something else like PE?

Also, any idea about the average distance between shale gas wells and gas processing plants?

Thanks,

Marc

Marc, the gathering systems for the Haynesville Shale generally deliver gas to gas treating facilities rather than gas processing plants due to the very low NGL content.  These treaters are located a strategic points along the gathering trunklines between the wells and gas sales points.  See the attached for a couple of examples of gathering systems.  My understanding is the gathering systems are constructed of carbon steel but suggest you contact CenterPoint Energy Field Services for more information.
