#241700, HA RD SUCC; MCLELLAND TRUST 29, Sec29-14N-10W, RED RIVER-BULL BAYOU has the well status of (09) injection well. Can anyone tell me what an injection well is? Thank you.

Code 09 is "IN TEST" - used only in North Louisiana.  Actually the well has finished drilling and is Waiting On Completion.  In other words waiting to be fraced.  The last time I looked there were over 500 wells Waiting On Completion so it can take some time for the well to be completed.
Will this well be used to produce gas, or will it be used to inject hazardous waste?
It's a Haynesville well and will produce gas.  It is not a salt water injection well.
Skip, Thank you once again.  The question was raised and caused me some concern.
Salt water injection wells will be listed as SWD (Salt Water Disposal).  The only injection this well will receive is a hydraulic fracture stimulation to break up the shale and release the gas.  Good Luck, I hope you get a good well.
Thank you very, very much for the clarification.

Glenda,

Are you a landowner in section 29?  I know right where that well is, in fact, the well is on my Uncle Billy Mclelland's farm.  I am in 14N-10W-Section 30 right next door!

Yes, Gary, I am a landowner in section 29.  It's great to know someone who might possibly have information about this well.  Do you happen to know anything about the current satus of the well.  I check the Sonris site for updates, but thier information posting does not seem to occur regularly.  I would certainly appreciate any information you may have.

Glenda, they finished the fracking the well this past week.  There is no word on the production yet, but that area has had some very productive wells and I am certain that this one will be excellent!

  1. Gray, Thank you for informing me that fracking of this well is finished!  This is great news! Do you know whether pipelines have been laid to transport the gas, and if so, were pipelines placed on our property?  Thank you so much for your help.

Glenda, the pipelines will carry the gas from this well once it is turned to sales have already been laid and from my understanding will run down my property along Hwy 515 and over the pipeline bridge which is very close.  Where the gas goes from there is anyones guess!

Gray

Gray,

Thank you for the helpful information. It helps me to get a better idea of the time frame of the remaining stages of the completion process.

Glenda
