They are currently drilling under Bistineau to install a six inch line. The company is out of Ft. Worth and has a nice custom built rig, I think the lateral is almost 7000ft.
Checkmateking. A six inch line seems small for the amount of development activity ramping up on the east side of Bistineau. Do you know any operators who have subscribed to this new line?
I was thinking the same thing myself, he said there will be more coming. This is just a start. He said they have 2 other rigs going in Ft. Worth now on some urban pipelines, as soon as they are through (in a month or so) they will both be sent here. I'll get in touch with him and get more details.
Ralph, there has been one permitted well that is likely targetting the Haynesville Shale:

BEUSA, Mongomery 18 #1 Well, Serial #239784, S18-T17N-R10W
Much gratitude Les B,

I believe I've seen the rig location between Hwy 527 and Spurgess Rd ( Old Honest John's to Harold Montgomery, Parish line road) looks like a biggun, and that might explain the clear cut ( about the size of an interstate highway) coming through. Just guessing. I don't pretend to know much about this, but intend to find out. Take a drive. Not far from state park 1. Hwy 527 to Sportsman Paradise Rd , go north a mile or so (pass Wood Cock Rd) and you will see the clear cut.

Respectfully,

Ralph

I have property in township 19 Range 8. Do you know and can you tell me if there is ANY interest from the companies to lease in the Minden area? Naturally we, in this area, are anxious to know if our land has potential for leasing and drilling.

Glenn. At this time the productive nature of the Haynesville Shale is in question north of I-20 due to disappointing well results from the Texas state line to Chesapeake's Prescott Family well in 19N -13W. Off the top of my head I am unaware of any other HA wells permitted or drilling in the 19N townships east of 13W by a major operator. What has become obvious is that regardless of the contiguous nature of the shale, it's petrophysical properties do vary from one area to the next. Poor economic conditions are also slowing the development of the play along it's outer boundaries. There is quite a bit of activity to the south of Minden (below I-20/east of Lake Bistineau) and before the year is out sufficient wells should be completed and announced that we will know more. Good wells = more wells. Poor wells = an area going on the back burner for future consideration. Please keep in mind the development of the full extent of the Haynesville Shale Play will take decades. Good Luck.

Thanks for the reply, even though it wasn't what I would have liked to hear. I guess everyone will just have to wait and see what happens. Again, thanks for taking the time to reply.

The Lithium Connection to Shale Drilling

Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…
