Just in from our friends at SONRIS in Baton Rouge.  This is the first tutorial.  It's late and I haven't had time to view it.  Please view and provide feedback.  And a reminder, the database is pronounced - Sun Rise.

Please provide feedback.  Did the tutorial help?  Did it address all the searches that you need?  Do you have any suggestions?

I'm retired (older & set in my preferences) and prefer the Sonris Lite option that allow queries without using the plug-ins.  I really don’t understand why it has to be “either/or”.  Can it be “both/and” as it used to be?  I see they have maintained the sonris lite option of querying only for some reports and the plug-in option only for other reports under the new platform.  Prior to this change, you were allowed both/and (both native browser functionality and plug-in) options on some of the report queries.  You could use the plugin if you liked or use only the native web browser functionality if you like.  It looks to me that they have gone to an effort to purposedly block or not allow both/and and it has become either/or.  My question to them would be, “why can’t it be both/and as opposed to either/or, like it used to be”?

I have the other links that “full name” gave in the “sonris update wells by S-T-R” thread.  That is very helpful and I’m using that instead of the plug-in.  Can’t teach an old dog new tricks.  I hope that doesn’t get blocked.

I did use the tutorial and it was helpful.  Many thanks to all. bes

Ditto on the old and set in my ways, bes.  The first question that I asked our friends in Baton Rouge was can we keep the SONRIS Lite searches.  I'm being patient and will see how the database works once all the changes are in place.  I shared a link to this discussion with the staffer heading up the database rebuild so I hope that more members will post here and share their experience with the "new" SONRIS.

Hi Bes,

I am sorry about the changes, but eventually, the lite queries will be disabled. The queries had to be replaced due to federal web accessibility requirements. Additionally, the lite queries were prone to bots datamining, which is a major problem with the database. Based on these reasons, we cannot maintain both. Please dabble in the new queries and send feedback in the form for proposed enhancements. https://www.dce.louisiana.gov/index.cfm/form/2 Thank you for taking the time to watch the video.

Carrie, please show us how to access the applications in the public hearing schedule and how to sort the columns in that search.  Some may prefer to sort by hearing date while some might wish to sort by docket number.

Will do, Skip! I have a list of short videos I plan to prepare by topic. I'll add Hearing Schedule to the mix. Another user requested access to Unit Survey Plats.

Thanks, Carrie.  I  strongly encourage all members to add a Haynesville unit survey to their mineral file and to use it to check the accuracy of their eight digit pay decimal.  In my seventeen years I have found that there are many mistakes regarding pay decimals and they can add up to significant amounts of money.  Lessor Beware!!!
