total recoverable reserves from HS horizontal in Northern Sabine Parish??

How much total gas will come out of a HS horizontal well in northern Sabine Parish over the life of the well?
How long will it take to get all the recoverable gas out of this well?

No one knows as of now.
Jack, most operators are projecting 5.5 to 7.5 Bcf for the average Haynesville Shale well but they do not tend to give estimates by area.
Jack,
Petrohawk has provided the most detailed map that I know of. Note -- I said "most detailed," not "most accurate." It's attached. When this map came out last month, many smart people on this site questioned the accuracy of the map in the southern area, since Petrohawk has not drilled a lot of wells in the south.

Somebody....in the Times this morning under locations it stated the Forest location 7-17-13W 13500' SMACKOVER...This along with Devon doing a James Lime in the area...is their thinking the shale formations may not be feasible this far south?
Ken, the "Smackover" designation could be an error and the well could actually be targeting the Hyanesville Shale or Bossier Shale. Forest is currently drilling a well in Section 7 nearby.

Patterson #543 Rig, Forest, Olympia Minerals 7 #H1 Well, Serial #241002, S7-T7N-R13W
Thank you for your answer....should have more data points by fall.
This could well be but could you not look at the smackover on the way to the shale formations? I know somewhere down there it is not going to be economical to drill the shale. Maybe Forest knows something already.
Thanks a bunch...I just assumed at 13500' things would be deeper. Should not assume...LOL Not as bad as I first thought!
Ken, I heard a rumor after the completion of the Forest well in Section 26-T8N-R14W, that they had found a lot of oil in the Smackover just below the shale. Some of the formation pros on the site thought that would be impossible because of the pressure and heat. I always like a good rumor to stir thing up.
Sounds good to me!
TD, the rumor could be true but a slim possibility. The well was drilled and logged to 12,438' before pulling uphole to kick off the lateral. The lateral was drilled in the Mid-Bossier Shale at ~ 12,000' TVD which leaves only about 400' of interval below. I have attached a file with some completion information for the well.

If Forest is drilling into the "Smackover" and the smackover lies between the shale and the salt...is a 13500' depth enough? Could they be looking for wet gas or just looking?

The Lithium Connection to Shale Drilling

Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…
