Is there any reason to attent the application hearing if you are already leased?

The units are along section lines. All 640 +/-.

They are applying for both CV and HS units. I guess maybe they will drill CV wells in areas that they can drill and HBP by those depths.

Do you think that they would answer WHY they are applying for both types of units?
If they are the one applying for Unitization, does that mean that they would be appointed the operator.

Could be that they want to make sure they are the operator for both formations.

I don't grasp most of this geologic/unitization information.
I personally like going to the meetings and only wish that I could go to more. If one is being held locally, it may be worth your time to go. If you want to go, if it is on a date that I can take off work, I could meet you there. LOL It would be nice to finally get to meet some of ya'll.

I recently found out that no, the company unitizing the unit does not necessarily become the operator. In your notice, did it state that the company was creating the unit and was applying to be appointed operator also? In Sec. 11 by me, J-W Operating filed the unitization and now Palmer Petroleum is the operator. I saw Mr. Palmer at the unitization conference and just thought maybe Palmer held leases in the unit. Now that Palmer has been issued a drilling permit, Palmer is the operator.
Good to see you back, Shale Geo.
Jay,

You have been missed while you were away!!
I plan on going, but was unsure of what to even ask.

I do not see any mention of commingling.
I attended the pre-application hearing today.

The statement that caught my attention was that they said they plan on the majority of their completions to be horizonal.

We'll see if they live up to that statement.
Hi Jim,

I can't answer to you last post.

You bring up an interesting point and something that I have often wondered about.

Since the HS is the source rock for the Cotton Valley and other formations, would a good record of Cotton Valley production be indicative of a "sweet" spot in the HS?

Or since the HS is "relatively" constant are there other forces that push the Cotton Valley into pockets?

And are there other areas of viable Cotton Valley that haven't been approached because of economically limiting factors.
KB, I'm saving those questions in a document for future reference. They may be very handy some day. Thanks!!
Parker,

GOOD FOR YOU! I always said that all parties who recieve notice of hearing should attend. You can learn a lot if you ask questions.
