What are some of the things that you love about the Ark-La-Tex?

With so many people from so many different areas, taking a peek at our area, I thought it would be nice to tell them some of the things that we all find special.

The first thing that comes to mind for me is the Strand. It doesn't matter what the production is, I am in awe everytime I enter the building. We even watched a movie there a few years ago.

The second would be Grand Bayou in Coushatta. I went Thurday.

We also go to Blueberry Hill in Bellevue every year to pick blackberries and blueberries.
1) Not sure if Bewley's furniture (a Tyler, TX company I think) is still in business, but growing up visiting grandparents I would regularly hear the tagline, "Thaaaat's Bewleys." People came from the metropolis (no irony) of Shreveport to shop at Bewleys.

2) ArkLaTex other favorite memory was the TV tagline (male voice), "KSLA Shreeeeeeveport." Wondered why the heck east Texas received S'port and not Dallas, but then it gave me a connection point to S'port & DeSoto Parish relatives.

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
