We were approached by landmen for bonus money and told they didn't get a percentage of or get paid for signing people up. Is this true?

David, no use arguing with P.G., shes a pro at landman bashing.
Like Ellis says, more and more, it happens like this:

Go lease this section, (I say OK)
Landowner says, "I want x and y"
I go back and ask the client if x & y are ok.
client says yes or no
i go back to L/O and say "they said yes" or whatever

Some clients still give us some lateral ability, but more and more they are micro-managing what clauses they allow us to add and the language.

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
