I have been checking the Caddo Clerk of Court records for a conveyance document confirming that Chesapeake had found a buyer for the N. Caddo leasehold they offered for sale with offers due February 6. I expected that if there was interest by a company willing to take leases with short remaining terms, it would happen relatively quickly. As It has not maybe Chesapeake decided that this section was worth drilling. Unexpected good news for Section 10. I hope we see a well permit soon.
We have received 2 letters from Chesapeake lawyers informing us of thier intentions to file an application for our area. Good news for us red-headed step children!
Congrats, Cathaus. Can you tell us what s-t-r's are covered by your letters?
Skip, we are in section 10 of 18N-15W. All of the landowners in surrounding sections also received the letters but the application is for section 10 only at this time. This is encouraging to the Blanchard area. Now we will keep our fingers crossed!
Yes, the IP list includes those within 1000' of the boundary of the proposed unit. I was hoping that there was an application in the pipeline for another section. As Jay has stated in the past, this area between Cross Lake and Blanchard has shale characteristics that are better than the remainder of the Longwood Field area. The Tellus well on the north shore of Cross established that and CHK had an interest in that well if I recall correctly.
I have property in Section 9 and did not recieve anything.
I am probably more than a 1,000 ft from the section line.
The IP (Interesed Party) lists quite often have address mistakes and old information. They are notoriously inaccurate. It's either a mistake or you are more than 1000' from the proposed unit boundary.
Congrats!! Yes, that is good news.
for some of us who still dont understand the S-T-R,what are some of the real boundaries of section 10 ??.....
Ray, Section 10 is a square mile with the intersection of the Blanchard-Furrh Rd. and Bickham Rd. at it's approximate center.
