I have been watching the Railroad Commission web site to see if any new permitted locations have been granted, and I still have not seen any production numbers on their 347-33215, although it was reported that they actually started production back in June.
How long does it take for the Railroad Commission web site to be updated? Is the delay in reporting by the drilling companies, or is there a delay at the Commission in doing the updates?
Thanks to anybody that has any info.
jffreel - Thank-you so much!
I know you have much better sources than the RRC site - what seems to be the delay in their getting the info up on their site, that you seem to have at your fingertips??
On the RRC site, I go to the map which shows the well in which I am interested, then I set the cursor to "identify wells", and then move the cursor to the well which I want info about. When I do that on 347-33215, it brings up the GIS wellbore attributes - which are still showing this as only a permitted location, and when I click on the Well Logs link, it comes back and says none. On the Operator/Wellbore/PDQ link - it still shows no completion data. Those are the reasons I was wondering how quickly they update that part of their web site.
Are there other portions of the web site which I have not yet discovered which have more current info??
I am really kind of new at this, but am willing to put in the time to explore how the system works.
Thanks again.
Mr. Barnum, there are several paths to the same data on RRC and that one is about the last one to get updated, unfortunately.

It has links to all of the query pages available to the public on RRC. All of the well completions in this district are being reported on the new digital system and you can search for them using the "Oil & Gas Completion Query". All you need is the well API (leave out the hyphen) or you can search by county.
For production, use the "Production Reports Query (Form PR). You should use the Production by Lease query and set the well type to "Pending" for new wells. Select District 6, type in the well API # (no hyphen) or the well status # (permit #) and set the first date far enough back to pick up the first production month.
If the well has a Lease ID #, use it and set the well type to Gas.
If you lose that link you can find both of those query forms on the RRC of TX. Help Center:
jffreel - thank you so much, I did not realize that the RRC's information was actually stored in a bunch of separate non-linked data bases - dumb me, I thought it was all one big logical database, to which the various reports, merely used a different pointer systems.
Thanks again for the links and info.
Jffreel, thank-you so much for your kind offer of assistance if I get stuck (your message of Friday 8/12) - it has taken me a bit of time, but, I seem to be getting the hang of the different data bases - what got me confused to start with is they all sort on different identifiers for the same well or, call a specific identifiers different things on different reports - Like the RCC Identifier (six digit all numeric) on the PR forms, which is called the Drilling Permit Number on the Oil and Gas Completions search system. But, with time and not being afraid to play around with it, I seem to be getting the hang of it. Thanks for pointing me in the correct direction.
Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
