Angelina County, TX Shalers -
I have provided TXRRC permit links to two new Units to be drilled and completed by Aethon Energy Operating LLC. The Unit names are Apato and Brachi, each containing two horizontal wells targeting the Haynesville and Bossier formations respectively. The Units are located in north Angelina County (FM 842 / Waterwell Road area) and are comprised primarily of undeveloped Black Stone Mineral acreage. This development activity appears to be the first year’s drilling effort referenced in Black Stone’s recently announced joint venture agreement with Aethon. Interestingly, these units are located within BP’s (BPX Energy) Laceyville field, and it appears that BP has assigned their leases in undeveloped areas (of this field) to Black Stone.

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
