My mother has mineral interest in some acreage in the southwest area of Miller County, AR. It is held by production under a very old oil and gas lease. The revenue is very small. I intend to travel to Texarkana to do some research on the original lease, etc., but would like to know how active that area is at this time and if someone could recommend a good oil and gas attorney to investigate the possiblity of being released from this lease due to such low production.

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
