I didn't get interested in this Shale buisness til I got a lease offer from Twin Cities last week. Does anyone know when the next sign-up for the south bossier coalition is? Is there someone I can contact to sign up, or register online?

There is a meeting scheduled for Monday Aug 4th 6:30 pm at Bellaire Bapt Church. The primary target is Pecan Park, some of Bellaire and several businesses along Barksdale Blvd but I'd think it's an open meeeting to anyone in S. Bossier who just wants to find out more about what's going on.

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
