I live on crouch not far from the end of east linton and i am in section 31 we got the map at the court house last week. We have been talking to several people but as of today still no mention of any offers. Everyone still saying that they will be in this area in a few more weeks to make offers. We are still trying to find any assoc. in our area but with no luck as of now.
I have just contacted Red River Land and left my information for them to call me back. The girl that answered said they would get back to me to answer any questions they can. It is my understanding that Chesapeake is using two companies for leasing purposes and they are Twin Cities 318-550-4000 and Red River Land 318-673-8339. Then Petrohawk is doing leasing 318-987-7560. You can give them a call as I just did and maybe one of us can find out if they are going to be leasing in our area. I will just wait for now and see if they contact me like they said.
I and my siblings have mineral rights (50 acres) in Sec35 & 36 T20n,R13W which is under water (Cypress-Bayou Recreation) that we unknowingly leased 1 !/2 years ago at $200 acre and 3 year term, 3/16th royalty, renewable for another 3 years at same price. The landman was trying to get all property owners in that area signed up at that time. This was property that had been sold 1967 to the Parish with mineral rights retained by my parents and we had forgotten about it. It was leased by Cypress Energy Corp. out of Baton Rouge. Others in that area may already be signed, also. Good luck! Does anyone know if there has been any drilling in this area?
I think Red Oak is in 20n 12w section 30. Most of that section is owned by a timber company that starts with a P. They lease the land to a hunting club. It runs north thru section 19 to hwy 162. I know before news broke of the shale that a brokrage company called Ashley Anne(dont know who they work for, probably just sell to the highest bidder) was leasing folks for $150-$250/ acre with 18%-20% royalties. But of course that was before march 24th when news broke. I looked on sonris on the dep of nat resource website and it appears that a well has never been drilled in section 30. If you hear about that timber company who owns most of that section leasing its mineral rights for some big bucks you can bet they'll be drilling at least one well to tie up that section.
I think it might be PINEY CREEK PLANTATION timber company.
donna, I know of a group around the cypress park area. Their web site is cpa-mineralrightsgroup.com They have a meeting at Benton High School on the 28th at 7pm.
Thanks for the reply. I do know that the timber company has several hundred acres that it leases to the hunting club (about 800, I think). My husband spoke with a geologist who is working with the shale and he stated that right now they are actively leasing in the north shreveport area and that they will be moving our direction and for us to be patient. This may be an excellent time to meet and "unify" as one big neighborhood. I am glad to know about the meeting at the high school on the 28th.
