Development of the Haynesville Sand continues with this new permit by JAG in the Arkana Field of north Bossier Parish, S10 - 23N - 13W. Members in this area should be aware of this activity but please do not confuse it with the Haynesville Shale. Good Luck.

Keith,
I received an App. for Public Hearing to designate three (3) additional wells each for the following units.
HA RA SUT, HA RA SU84, HA RA SU98 and HA RA SU99, These units are in Sec. 8,9,10,&11, 16N12W, Elm Grove Field.

This is a vertical well producing from the Haynesville Sand, not the Shale. It is less productive than many of the Haynesville Sand wells which have been drilled by the hundreds in north Bossier, Webster, Claiborne and other parishes. JAG is a small local independent energy company and not a shale player.

Hi Skip, Diamond has a HA vertical in the bellvue field. Initial production is over 1000 mfcd. Do you think it is sand or shale?

I think it's likely sand, Catfish. However the Bellevue Field appears to be located in an area where shale transitions to sand. Even if there is some HA Shale in some portion of the field, it is probably not economic at current nat gas prices. If the Bellevue Field was considered significantly prospective, some company or companies other than Diamond would be drilling there.

The diamond wells are shale. The sand does not start until approximatly 5 miles north. Diamond currently has 3 haynesville units in the area and they are applying for 10 more. They are also applying for cotten valley units on these same sections. The well you mention must be the well in section 35 the well in section 11 was improperly done and damaged by the service company. There is approximatly 280 feet of shale in all the wells that diamond has drilled. The endeavor wells in section 22 and 27 are the first horizonal wells in the area. They have dug a pond lined it and have been pumping ground water into it for over a month. It is currently full and indicates they are planning two huge frac jobs. The laterals on both of these wells are close to a mile long. Endeavor is currently leasing in section 16. They must think they have something. Rumor was the Vice well drilled by diamond was flowing oil. 1000 mcf in a vertical well sounds pretty good.

I hope your right,wlt. Keep in mind the shale was 300' thick under Blanchard also. That's no guarantee of an economic completion.

Diamond Oil has permitted 13 wells in two years. 4 permits expired without being drilled. One vertical HA wells was drilled (#2 on the list below). That leaves 8 wells all vertical and not completed.

If you had property in Sec 22 19N 11W, would you prefer to lease (with good terms, of course) or wait to see how things go?
