Samson has taken out a permit to drill 10,600 ft deep in 20n 12w sec 18. They did this before but let the permit expire. The pad is already there so im inclined to think they will eventually drill. Does anybody know how long a permit is good for? Does Samson have the ability to drill horizontally?

Amy, yes Samson can drill horizontal. There is a thread on this site that goes in depth on Samsom.
Where exactly is that located?
RS 30:28 (B) - A permit shall be valid for one hundred eighty days from the date of issuance and if the well or test well is not drilled within one hundred eighty days after the permit is issued, it shall be void and a new permit must be obtained upon the payment of an additional drilling permit fee.
This is just a vert well. It may be a test well to see wha the shale looks like in this area.
How do you know its a verticle well? James were you asking about the samson thread or where is the pad? The pad is near hwy 162 and crouch road.
I was wondering about the pad...Thanks!

I will have to look a little harder for the pad, I have not seen it. Is it on hwy 162? East or West of Crouch?
its a few hundred feet west of crouch, on the north side of the road. There is a chain across it but you can see it from the road.
WOW I am right there. What does this mean for me? I am at 20n 12w sec 7. I am up Clement Rd.
It means you should be very interested in the results of this well. Samson will have to run a pipeline to this well to get it to market. If they'll go thru the trouble of running pipeline to this well you would think they would drill more wells to hook on to this pipeline all around it. Assumming they have the land leased and this well (wallace 18) is a winner. Also ive heard they can drill into two or more sections from the same pad if it is on the section line like this one is. The other side of hwy 162 is section 19.
are there any groups or meetings for this area? I do not live there. I had family that lived there but their all gone now. I will help as I can.
http://www.cpa-mineralrightsgroup.com/ There next meeting will be in mid january, the last 2 or 3 were at benton high school.
