Whoever it was knocking at your door...they would like to give you some money (a small amount now for the seimographic survey, but if there is oil and/or gas..chi ching) to run some tests to see if Oil and/or gas might be under your property. I would let them if I were you. If there is in fact oil andor gas under your property, that would be a great thing for you and your family.

I would advise you to allow seismic survey. If I were you I would ask for a copy of any data they obtain on your land. I always do that because I am landowner, oil & Gas operator, geologist and geophysicist with considerable working experience in geophysical business. My experience is dated, going back to 50's and 60's. Interpretation of the 3-D seismic data is expensive, and I do not expect you would want to have that done. But, you do not know when someone else may come along wanting to lease your land and you could provide them with this data. I have never had a company to refuse to give me data.

If we signed our permit a couple of months ago and have not received our check, is this any concern? How do you know when they plan on actually doing the seismic in your area?

The offer should be about $25 per acre. They must do this in order to determinr where to properly place a pad in which to drill.

It is typically a good sign if they come knocking for seismic access. Get some form of damages in the event they have to move anything or tear down any trees. It is usually pretty quick and painless so it should not be noticable at all. There is usually a minimum payment to the land owner (Not like Bonus Money).

Seismic is needed to define any faults or geological anomalies on your property. It is very expensive but it shows that the company is serious about potentially drilling a well there.

after you sign the permit, when do they pay you? I have not heard of anyone actually getting paid??

we signed the permit back in July and have not received the $25...but, from what I have heard on here and from other places is that if they are doing this it is a good sign that they are interested in doing something...we are keeping our fingers crossed...hopefully just a matter of time

We are in section 24, South Bossier and the same people came to my house today. They just want to measure and is willing to pay $25.00 to do so. What do we have to lose? I just hope this either means more wells or shipping the gas out of our section faster. Either is fine with me.
