Have heard a bit about Western and their activities in California. They are pursuing some tough formaitons / plays there in the Monterey and other unconventional formations. Don't know much as to details but their areas of interest to date (California and Utah) are in line with the Brown Dense play.

Does anyone know where this company is leasing? There must be lot of people who are anxious to know. Thanks for any information you may have. Interesting to see they have XTO as JV partner in N.Y.

I know they are leasing around Morehouse Parish. XTO/Exxon would make sense as they have a huge FEE block in the area.

or it could just be a coincidence...these guys don't seem to have any particular allegiance to anyone operator and they aren't a broker.  anyone know who their montana partner is?

Nothing at this point other than they are interested in the area. Don't make the mistake of thinking that this is a sure bet. They may make you an offer today and then pull the offer next week.

I know nothing of either of these companies, and certainly have no reason to think they are in any way not honest, upright companies.  However, both websites talk a lot about projects and completed well results, but not much about actual operation activity.  I am guessing these are both companies that gather up leases so they can be involved with bigger operators.  Frankly, I would be surprised to find they ever actually hire the rig and drill the holes.  Like I said, I don't think they are dishonest, and I am sure they have the leaseholds they speak of, I just don't think they are the ones who operate the leases.  But, I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time...

Western Energy (Production) is not listed as an operator with the LA Office of Conservation.  Whitmar Exploration Company is listed with the state.  They have one well in the database.

Inline with what I'm thinking.  They may both be fine companies, I just don't think they have a "silver bullet" for the brown dense.

Are they actively leasing today?  What are there current offers?  Bonus and term, etc?  I know of people interested in leasing.

What part of the parishes are they currently leasing?  Any help would b great.  Thanks.
