One hour ago drove by well sites.  Sounds like fracturing pumps running wide open, tank trucks lined up hauling frac water from sites.  Looks like about half the water in  frac pond gone.

Obed , I'm not sure if Hunt Oil Co. has or will work with AIX. But would think that if SW were to drill in 23n 7 or 6 west they will have to work with others . Hunt Oil, AIX, Petro Chem..... As these are big units .

Hunt Petroleim was "first family" Hunt - William Herbert Hunt and Bunker Hunt.  Hunt Oil is "second family" Hunt - Ray L. Hunt, and they are still very much independent (I've done work for them).  Which Hunt entity has the leaseholds in 23N, 7W ?

XTO acquired all the north LA. leasehold once owned by H. L. Hunt.  Probably S AR too. Members of the family started a new company, Hunt Energy, after the sale to XTO.  You can search the LA state database for any Hunt company and find that there are no producing wells listed under any variation of the name.

I don't doubt that you are correct.  I was just curious as to which entity owned the leaseholds in 23N, 7W.  As you probably know, H.L. Hunt had two families (some say three).  First family (H.L. and first wife) had Hassie, Margaret Hunt Hill, Caroline Hunt Schollkopf (sp?) who owns Rosewood Corporation, William Herbert Hunt, Bunker Hunt, and Lamar Hunt who owned the Kansas City Chiefs.  Second family (H.L. and his second wife, Ruth Ray Hunt) had one son, Ray L. Hunt who owns Hunt Oil and three daughter.  Hunt Oil has extensive domestic production as well as a major operation in Yemen.  They also own Hunt Refininhg Company in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

In researching N LA fields where Hunt was once active all I find is XTO.  The members in this thread who brought up the Hunt name were unaware of the sale to XTO.

Hunt Oil Co. Not Hunt Petroleim

There is no "Hunt" Oil, Petroleum, Energy or any other name variation listed as an operator of producing wells by the LA DNR.

Skip, I see that in Oct 2011 a hearing was scheduled at DNR (docket no. 11-605) to consider a unit  application in S11 T23N R7W of East Haynesville Field by Hunt Oil Co. of Dallas, TX, so they were still using the Hunt name at that time.

Hunt Oil Company ... Operator #2746 has producing wells.

I was told that AIX will be putting at least one well up in section 4 T23N R7W soon and they continue to put more in their leases areas. I think Section 5 is XTO.
