Go SWN! Looks like the Garrett well was completed fairly quickly. Up next are the Lillie wells.
lillie wells? is there more than one? the only one i heard of was off of graftons crossing?
So... SWN has now already spudded half the exploration wells they have planned for the LSBD this year? (a wopping total of 3 wells out of the revised 6 Mueller said he anticipates the company completing this year). I know I'm getting ahead of myself, but hopefully the unsopoken plan is to go into some sort of expanded development once those 6 wells are complete (assuming positive results).
Here's hoping for positive news out of the earnings conference call next week.
SWN has a unit set up in Claiborne parish in what is known as the Lillie SW field and then there is a hearing to set up a unit off of Grafton's Crossing.
went by the grafton crossing site last week and looks like they are geting ready to put in a pad.
Is there an update on the Garrett? Also, is there a any current news on the Desoto rig #20 and how the well in the Ora Field is going? It has been so quiet.
We may not get any solid numbers until the first quarter conference call in a couple of months. We'll probably just get rumors until then.
You are correct North LA, all these reports of what color trucks are going in and out and if they drilled 10,100 or 10,101 feet are fun things to know when there is nothing else to know. Its a slow process ramping up if all their science keeps going the right way, the quarterly report will be where we get the facts. Knowing that they are still requesting permits or buying leases is a good vibe, if activity stops and the trucks start leaving town, i would say that would be a bad vibe.
SONRIS does have an update of sorts, dated 3/14/2012, on the Ora well, but all it says is that on 3/8/2012 the blow-out preventers (BOP's) were re-tested:

Fracking was completed on the Garrett well on 3/08/2012 and a coiled tubing rig was seen at the site shortly after that, so hopefully it is now in the flowback stage.
You are right that waiting for results is boring, like watching paint dry, but I guess we just have to be patient.
Since the previous report was: TOTAL VERTICAL DEPTH REACHED 10,783' 3/7/12, I suspect that the BOP test indicates that they have gathered their science and are ready to plug back and begin the lateral.
Thank you for all the info. If you have any new information I will be awaiting it too! Have a great day.
Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
