I know sec 10 in 14n 14w hit the fault line and I had proposed via the fault line map that someone posted that other sections around it might have the same issues. If you notice, along with sec 10, sec 22 & 23 appear to have met the same fate unfortunately. I'm also guessing that is why other sections around these aren't getting activity in the HA either (1, 2, 3, 11, 13, 14, & 15).  Exco appears to be the operator in 10, 22, & 23.

Has anyone got a map breaking out the sections and where this fault crosses in thoses sections. We have reserved minerals in Sec. 21 of 15N 14w (Caspiana field). A well was drilled there over a yr. ago as an east west lateral to avoid a fault. Nothing else has been drilled. Assume that was the Elm Grove Fault, but don't know for sure
I do have the information you've requested but know HA wells have yet to be drilled in 22. Encana permitted one earlier this week. 14n 14w sec 22. I believe 18,000+ ft.
KM, I don't know if this has anything to do with the fault you are mentioning but I'm in Sec. 13, 15n 14w. Exco drilled our section, #240999, Marioneaux well in March and April, 2010. During the completion process (I think), Exco reported that the Marioneaux well was communicating with a well directly to the east, the Reeves well in Sec. 18, 15n 13w. (On Sonris it says it fracked into the "Rives" well but it is the "Reeves" well).

I called the LOC DNR and spoke to the engineer who handles the well and he said that the problem likely was not due to the fracturing process but due to a natural fault that runs between the two wells. I wish I knew more about it.
thanks for the map, Jay. Help me out. Can you tell if the fault in the Caspiana goes through sec. 21 of 15/14. That sec. has an east west lateral and I have wondered if it was drilled that way to avoid a fault
kittycatmama,

The map that Jay provided does show a fault in S21-T15N-R14W. It starts in Sec. 21 and runs North East through Wallace Lake.
we have reserved minerals in Sec. 21 of 15/14 and they did an east west lateral on it last summer. I suspect they did this because one of these faults went through that section. I don't know for sure, but that would make sense. Good to see you posting again. Haven't see you on here for awhile
Thank you very much for posting the map. If it is a fault causing the wells to "communicate", how do they remedy the problem with the wells?
The Green Rives 21H #1 has been posted to SONRIS and was completed as a vertical. Plugback TD 11880' with Prefs 11,668-11,850'.

Don't know if they run into a fault in section 21 14N-14W, but well was permitted as a horizontal.

The Lithium Connection to Shale Drilling

Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…
