Is it true that the Haynesville shale drilling is slowing down in DeSoto Parish?

I also heard that Chesapeake is not going to build their new site at I49 and Hwy 84.  Is that true also?

Development activity has remained relatively constant in DeSoto Parish throughout 2010 though it is expected to slow this year.  The best means to look at real figures and discount rumors is the DNR Haynesville portion of the state database.  For a quick read, this is the best and easiest to understand.  Keep in mind that these are figures for the entire play and not just DeSoto.  Much of the increase in permits from Nov. to Dec. should be in southern areas of the Play.

Teresa, actually the drilling activity in DeSoto Parish has been on an upward trend throughout 2010.  You can look at the attached chart to show the Haynesville Shale drilling rig count for the year.
