There are a lot of good producing wells concentrated in this area incl. the Burford well, Senator Davis's wells. Is this the core of the HS? I have heard this over and over from production people with 3 different companies

I have heard that from Encana, Exco, and Chesapeake. Chesapeake is going door to door leasing in some of those townships (friends of mine live in Sec. 18 T14R14 and Chesapeake reps knocked on their door). Encana is extending their big pipeline north that runs parallel to Long Rd., so they must be anticipating a lot of production. Now if gas would just to go $6!!!!!!!!!!!Sigh
Yes it is the core
Any idea how many wells will be drilled per section in these areas since they are the core? Will more than one well be drilled in next 24 months or will the companies just wait to see where gas prices go once they have locked in the lease with a well
I'm in that area.....I grew up on Long Road (it's named after my family).....Encana was going to drill 7-8 wells on my property but now their drilling one per section to keep the leases and wait for prices to rebound.
Note the massive pipeline Encana is putting parrallel to Long Rd. It is running north up to the Stanley Rd area to catch gas from those wells. They must anticipate drilling more well in future to invest that kind of money in pipelines.
I hope so....all talks we've had with them lead us to believe they are in it for the long haul. My family also sold 60ac for a gas processing plant as well.
I drove down Stanley Rd. earlier this week and it looks like they are setting up mini processing plants. THere is a lot of oil and gas construction going on in pastures. I saw huge cranes working in one pasture. I have never seen that kind of equipment in my life. The well in Sec. 21 of 15/14 (dyson well) should be going online soon. It will be interesting to see what it does
They've been real tight lipped about production on surrounding wells which we think is bc they're trying to finish up some lease acquisitions. It's a waiting game at this point but all signs are good thus far.....just hope prices rebound.
They are leasing in Sec. 18 or 7/7 now. Curious why they haven't put a well on sec. 7 of 7/7 where the Scout Ranch is located.
From what I've learned a lot of where they drill has to do with the lease pertaining to each property. In our lease they had to drill in 3 years or leave. Many leases have an extension clause, and with the economy being what it is most companies are going to execute those extensions if necessary. Also, some leases allow for any type of production as to keep the lease meaning a company can drill a cotton valley well or something similar in order to keep the lease. We also had verbage as to keep this from happening. Some of it also has to do with rig location meaning that if they are drilling in one section it's easier to move to the next, then the next, and so on.
Are you Ashton?
They have been knocking at our doors in North Desoto Estates and they are offering leases for about $3000 per acre. I have seen on this site that this is not a good price so we are waiting. I mean, they must know something we don't if they are coming to us, right?
