I am looking for information about Encana's Green Rives well in Section 21, T14NR14W.  I heard a rumor that Encana pulled the rig off early.  (Possibly, because they encountered a fault.) Sonris has the horizonal drilling 2/26/10 @12116'. Does anyone have information about this well?

Eliza,

Well is waiting on frac, separator and tank battery are in place, (crew working on them now). Hang in there, remember SONRIS is slow on scout reports.
I wasn't worried until someone local to the area told me the information he had was "they shut down and pulled out prior to completing the horizontal. The word is they encountered a “geologic anomaly” (which sounds to me like they drilled through the fault) and pulled out to determine what to do." So I'm seeing if anyone out there knows more or will correct this. Thank you so much for your reply. Will you let me know when the frac starts? Not easy getting information when you live out of town. This forum is wonderful.
Eliza,

Looks like the frac will start soon. Pipeline and tank battery are in place. Terra is working on well now, not sure exactly what part they play. Christmas tree is set and it appears they are to run some type of coil tubing. Have not seen frac company, but I don't go by there often.
FXEF,
So good to know. I'm out of town so hard to find out anything. Patience is hard sometimes since we're all so excited. Please let me know if you find out anything else. Is Terra involved with the frac? Thank you so much.
Curiosity killed the cat, but a cat has nine lives.

Stopped by today and was told Terra was doing some kind of flowback yesterday, but well was not frac yet. Today they are perforating the well and will monitor the well for 2 weeks then come back and do the frac. Was told this will be a one stage frac as this is a vertical HS well not a horizontal as listed on SONRIS.
Thank you for the information. Interesting that it is vertical. Curious. I'd like to know what anyone reading this thinks about that. Won't be long until we'll know something - maybe.
If that well is a vertical that would be most surprising. I'd almost have to bet that it's bc of concern for the fault. They must be HBP until they can get something figured out later. The fault has to run through either 16 or 21 as we know for sure it's in 10 (fault runs SW to NE). I know they can drill under it but have to do so from another section. The problem is that Encana doesn't have the rights to any section N, S, E, or W of 21 so they'd have to negotiate with either exco or el paso. I know exco has contacted Encana about drilling from 9 in to 10 as exco hit the fault in 10. I guess at some point they'll need one another for the same reason.
The major leases were signed before the play was known. So early. Encana also has section 22.
Elisa,

Superior Well Services is doing a one stage fracture stimulation today (05/29/2010). Looks like pipeline is in place so flowback should start without any delays.
That's interesting. I was just told it was a 8 stage frac. Guess we'll have to wait and see what happens. Let me know what you hear. Thank you for the update.
Yes, the well has had only one of eight fracs because they ran out of water. As of 5/25, there were pipes laying down road leading to pond (more water) but If you say they did more on 5/29, it is a possibilty that flowback should start soon.
