Read your lease. Some leases specify that payments must begin within x days of the completion of the well. Include that info in your demand letter, if your lease has such language.
Google "2009 Louisiana Code TITLE 31 Mineral code"
Read sections 137,138,139,140,and maybe 141. It tells you the LAW in Louisiana about timely payments of royalties and the very severe penalties that can be awarded by the courts if they are not paid in a timely manner. I had a similar problem in section 14 and after I wrote the letter mentioned in section 137 and referenced the penalties as described in the folowing sections for not paying in a timely manner, lo and behold the checks started coming.
