I'm new here, so if this has been discussed please point me in that direction. How do I check out the person who is offering to pool our land and present it to the companies?

The last I had heard, the meeting was at the FBC, 8/19. I was asked to bring a copy of purchase by EnCana, March of 2007. Invited folks and they drove up to the FBC. I've been working on a blue line map and there are some sections that are mostly open. Much of the middle of 9/10 is leased. Leasing has slowed down because of need for a pipeline to flow and companys have leased more than they can get drilled in five years.
The companies don't like what the cities are doing. Personally, if I was wearing the shoes of land men, I'd get frustrated at folks sending them to other folks handling their land. I'm for getting legal advice. I feel that when the big company get ready to drill, they'll do whatever they need. My preference is to deal straight with whoever is drilling.

What do you mean "the companies don't like what the cities are doing"?
