Just got off the phone with Anadarko in Houston. Anadarko has approx. 12,000 acres on either side of a fault in the general area. They have only 9 months left to drill on the leases with no options. According to Gary, the engineer for this area, they are in the process of trying to get a partner who can drill the area within the 9 month time frame. He said that messenger had an intial flow of 5.2 million from a verticle hole which was one of the best in the entire south. He indicated that you can multiply that times six for a horitontal fraced well. That is hard to believe, 30 million! Encana is currently drilling another well close to Messenger and another planned and being padded at this time. We will finally see how good the area is within a year or so. If Anadarko does not drill, it will be interesting to see what is paid for the area there on new leases.

thanks for the info. i did here that a lot of folks in the powhatten area are starting to get letters in the mail from anadarko, stating that they are going to drill soon.
