I understand that leasing and re-leasing activity has started again in the Northwest part of the parish. Can anyone tell me exactly the area and what is the offer.

Recieved a letter from Chesapeake a Pre-Application Notice-Called Ashland Field for 9 wells-to be designated HA RA SUA through HA RA SUI Haynesville Zone, Reservoir, in the Ashland Field, Red River and Natchitoches Parishes. T-14N-R 8W Sec.13.& 24 T-13N R 7W Secs. 5-7-8-17-18-19-20.
Note: The GHS main board had a similar info post last night (2-24-10) in regards to this CHK pre-app. (It's about time.)

Also, as most know who live in this particular area, CHK has held these lowball leases for a number of years. Some of these leases were acquired from smaller operators, e.g., Hood Petroleum (Ruston) years ago, and I've read (on here) from Samson, too. Indeed, years ago I remember when Samson was inking huge swaths of lowball leases in another parish/es, too.

Anyway, as some also know, not all the land in these particular Natch. sections are actually leased as of this date. Indeed, there still are bits and pieces (loose ends) of un-leased acreage that CHK doesn't have.

So it seems as though some savvy competitors should be checking the Natch. courthouse records and looking for these un-leased tracks (of many acres) that some say have both the Bossier and Hayn. Shales underneath 'em.

Seek and ye shall find.
Thanks for the info. Would you know how close these areas are to Goldonna (12-6-12) and what areas have Bossier and Hayn. underneath 'em? Also, does anybody know what this woodpecker and snake conservationist stuff is about in the Kisatchie Forest? Does it have any impact on drilling in the area?
rhedle. These are not wells. They are Drilling & Production Units. Each of these units represents a section that qualifies for 8 Haynesville Shale wells based on state spacing regulations.
