Back to Basics. Shale 101

Can someone tell me what the order of events are after a company recieve a permit to drill ? How long do they have to drill etc. I have a small piece of land on S25 T14 R10. On 10/13/09 a permit to drill was granted. Thanks for any help

Skip, probably 50% or more of the Haynesville Shale may require treating as the CO2 level exceeds 2%. This is partially a fuction of the downstream gas pipeline specifications (2% -vs- 3% CO2 limit). Also some of the produced gas is above 4 ppm H2S which exceeds pipeline specifications.

The "no transportation charges" is debatable as in some instances these are part of the gas netback price calculation. ie If gas is sold into the Columbia Gulf Pipeline at Perryville, there may be transportation costs deducted to calculate a DeSoto Parish netback price.

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.

This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
