I've heard that leasing activity in Sabine Parish is slowing down. Anyone know if there's any truth to this? Also, does anyone know about any lease activity in Many recently?

I posted this info in Leasing Offers area but will repeat here. I signed with Honeycutt Hill (Chesapeake) on 8/11/08 for $13.5 with 25%, 3 yr. lease with 2 yr option. I have 30 acres between Belmont and Marthaville. 25/9N/11W. I was told I got one of the last leases offered in that section of Sabine.
Sounds like you got a deal. Who is Honeycutt Hill? Also was your lease with Chesapeake? I know of several who like to lease but have not heard from anyone.
Honeycutt Hill Corp. is the leasing agent for Chesapeake. We met with our attorney on Monday in Mansfield. His information from Chesapeake is that they have pulled out of Sabine Parish. It could be temporary, who knows.
A small group on 174 downtown mitchell has received offer of $17500.00 from cheaspeake. (they're back) Others close by did not receive the offer. This was handled by ron black through connection's in coushatta!
I heard that !!!!!!!!! Gonna get real hot around here again since the 25 wells are starting to be drilled soon.
Who is Ron Black?
He get's group's in different place's,submitted for bid's by law firm in coushatta.
Hey Ken this is what my lawyer said about leasing coming back to life here in Sabine:

Good morning, Vonda. I checked with my contact at Shell and he told me that Shell and Encana do plan to drill multiple wells in Sabine. Unfortunately, he also told me that leasing has been halted. That's the same leasing information that I am getting from all of these companies. Maybe someone new will come along. Keep working on getting your land released and let me know.

Just got his email this morning. Just thought I would share this email with you. My lawyers name is Ken Simmons out of Many. He is a property lawyer. Thanks.
thanks for sharing this, vonda!
I'm not sure why chespeake wanted these property's but i know it's for real. Two involved or my brother in law, mother in law. I would be glad to see them drill in that section....
This is nothing but a game from a day to day basis and we the people are the pawns. Never know what will happen next. One day you're in, the next day you're out.
Ken,

Do you have any knowledge of certain sections that Chesapeake leased in Sabine Parish? thanks
