Got my first royalty checks today. Question...Shell and Encana each pay 50% royalties on the same well. The checks were not for the same amount. The difference was total amout sold and price of sale. How can this be?
Can you tell us how much it came out to per acre? and what royalty % you are getting?
No, I cannot tell you how much it calculates per acre. You should recieve a Division Order telling you what your fractional interest calculation is(royalty decimal number). The more land or interest you own the higher this decimal number will be. I only own a 1/24th interest in our property. We are getting 20% royalty. Wish we had done our homework before signing.
Hey Cuz! Congrats on getting some of that mailbox money. What section are you in? You are in T9N, R12W, right?
Hello cuz! Yes, Section 11. Yeah, we're glad to be getting some mailbox money as well. It does seem we are getting less than our % royalties though. See my discussion about royalties...
Encana is surveying on my place now to put a pad, in section 31 and drill in section 30. Looking for any type of information on this. What they are paying for a pad, price per hole, any other type of benefits since they are drilling into another section.

Can someone tell me what this means please?? COMPLETED 4-20-10; GAS; JURASSIC RA; 17,863 MCFD; 24/64 CHOKE; 9282# FP; 9282# CP; PERFS 13,856-17,145' MD this is what is on sonris for well #239985
A very decent well!
Gambler,
The initial flow rate was 17,863 thousand cubic feet per day. The choke size (the size of the opening in the pipe) was 24/64 inch -- that's fairly wide for a Haynesville well. The Casing pressure was 9282 psi -- that's very high (good). And the perforations were between 13,856 feet and 17,145 feet in the pipe.

ken hatcher was right. You have a darn good well.
Gambler, this well was capable of producing +/- 25 MMcfd on a slightly larger choke size. Excellent well and another example of why EnCana is probably the best operator in the play in regard to completing wells. By the way the well was completed with 13 frac stages.

EnCana, RSD LLC 4 #H1 Well, Serial #239985, S4-T9N-R11W, Sabine Parish, 17863 Mcfd, 24/64" Choke, 9282 psi Flowing Pressure, Grogan Field
Thanks everybody for the info. Glad to hear that it is a decent well. What does the completed with 13 frac stages mean?
