Tony, there has been no unit application or well permit for Section 9.
Tony...Don't feel left out. We own property in Sec. 5 - 8 - 11, which is more or less next door to you and there's been no interest indicated. Around a year, or so, ago a title company out of Tyler, Texas called most of the land owners asking about various title issues, but that's been all. Most of the acreage has never been leased, and we've formed an informal group that has agreed to lease in bulk should the opportunity arise. One absentee landowner signed up with an agent to solicit a lease, with no success. All of the companies operating in the area were contacted back when leasing was booming, but no interest was shown. There was leasing in Sec. 8, and EnCana staked a location. Even notified man leasing pasture to get prepared to remove his cows. But the stake's rotted down, without any further action. All sorts of rumors as to why there is no interest in area, but nothing substantial. We'll all hope for better times in the future....
I appreciate all the info...if anything arises keep me in mind I wouldn't be opposed to joining in as a group either..

This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
