Thanks Ken, this is good news - the field grows larger. What company is leasing? Would this be across the Toledo Bend Lake from San Augustine (the reason for the interest) - would it include under the lake? What is being paid for leases in the area?
They are interested in under the lake acreage to because that's what i have, the price somewhat comparable to noble area. They will be representing cheasapeake. Nobody told me this but i think before to very long they will be in the northern part of township 6.
do you think that leasing will happen in the negreet/cypress bend area? we have some property below the water and also some out of the water.
Ronald I talked with a lot of smart people that thinks were T-7 ends and T-6 starts things start to get a little iffy. Forest is starting a Smackover exploration to 13500' in 7-17......just have to keep hoping for good results.
Well after today, thing are not looking very iffy any more for T-7,T-6,T-5,and T-4, they are looking very clear for the Haynesville and Bossier Shale; Sonris reported today for the Forest well(241553) in Sec.17,T-7, R13W as being P & A. This is the first P&A for the whole play that I know of. It looks like over half of Sabine Parish is out of the money for the Haynesville and Bossier Shale.
Jerry, the first Haynesville Shale well drilled in Sabine was P&A. It didn't have anything to do with it being a dry hole. Forest doesn't have the experience that others have and maybe something got screwed up down hole causing the P&A. Don't flush the toilet on the Haynesville in mid to southern Sabine just because one operator plugged a well.
Thanks Two Dogs, that is the kind of information I was looking for. So, Forest could of had trouble with the hole and just P&A. Some on this thread are stating otherwise.
Jerry, I all I can say is this "It ain't over yet" on the southern part South Sabine Parish, Louisiana.
Well spoken Two Dogs, there is another permit in 7-14....got to think about the James Lime. Mean while " Stay thirsty my friends"
Ken, do you believe my info now?
Jerry, there have been several Haynesville Shale wells P&A'd due to mechanical issues including some in the center of the play. Unfortunately the Sonris information is not sufficient to determine why Forest abandoned this particular well after setting the 7" casing.
a, you where certainly right about the rig being gone...you will note my last post said "I am not saying it is not true but where is the info. coming from?" If you post something you should say it is rumor, inside info., etc. I have long suspected it played out some where down there but would certainly like to know more about the log.
