One of them is in A47, which is 2 miles NW of the recently-announced US Forest Service Z Redmond well. It will be north of 103 and east of 1277.

The other two are parallel wells on USFS land in Section A-274, 2 miles east of the big Blackstone A-398 well that came in strong.

Is it me, or is Encana going nuts with this acreage SW of SA???

farmbrad will be disappointed.  They went east again... but at least they are moving, finally.
Naw, not really disappointed. This one did get out attention for an hour or so though until I got the TIF to open. It's evident now that EnCana's going to continue to drill Blackstone & other govt properties in the near future. They're very good at what they do & I just hope to renew our contracts with them when they expire. The gas isn't going anywhere & time is on my side. That is, as long as we keep the "greenies" from getting crazy legislation passed.
I was kidding, fb.  I don't think you have anything to be concerned about.  If EnCana doesn't sign you again, or drill a well, XTO may be in the neighborhood by the time your lease runs out.  They are north of you, now, up on 1196.
I think XTO would be a great alternative. We could give them a unit size block and we're pretty easy to bargain with over there in A Spear. No soliliticing though, right...
They like your area farmbrad. You are in a excellent spot.   Be interesting to see what the A-17 does to see if they permit anything around it.
JWC, you did see that they are working on the disposal well on 103, didn't you?  I think they must expect some need for a commercial disposal well in that area or they wouldn't be going forward... would they?
That should be a good sign jffree1.  Lots of activity around us.  I think it is like farmbrad said...Gas is not going anywhere and time is on our side.  Also lots of leases expiring around us this year.  Something will happen this year I hope.

I agree.  We've waited this long and the gas isn't going anywhere.  But I share the concern expressed by others over what our regulators might try to enact that would further hinder development.

We got all excited over possible mineral development in the 80's and the 90's only to see it just disappear both times.

I am leased to Devon. Does it look as if Devon is getting completely out of the picture in San Augustine County?

My lease run out in August 2011. It is n the 103/147 area.

Who knows with Devon.  They have all of zero rigs drilling the haynesville/bossier right now.
Charles Devon talked to me about leasing about a year ago then the next think I knew they had pulled out of the area.  Funny they drilled one of the biggest wells in SA County then practically shut down.  Even though I am not leased Devon has a lot of land leased around me and those leases expire later this year.   Our land is just south of 103 down 705.
