One of them is in A47, which is 2 miles NW of the recently-announced US Forest Service Z Redmond well. It will be north of 103 and east of 1277.

The other two are parallel wells on USFS land in Section A-274, 2 miles east of the big Blackstone A-398 well that came in strong.

Is it me, or is Encana going nuts with this acreage SW of SA???

I have not seen anyone talk about new leases in some time.
As for the well SE of A-43, I assume that will be the A-47 well I show in the first link at the top of this page. If you click on the Map icon in the API # section and zoom out, you will see A-43 2 miles to the NW of A-47. I just know about the permit application, nothing more, other than (once again) Encana sets up these wells so that BlackStone (BSI), Exxon, or US Forest Service get royalties, not individuals. Hey, there is one 10 acre owner on A-47 who is not Blackstone. Maybe there's hope!
We're in A Spear survey A43, also. We were given a choice of 25% royalty or 22% "cost free" royalty. We chose the known amount of 22%. What I have since read on this website is that "cost free" royalty doesn't mean much unless you have a "net back" clause. You should do a "net back" search from main page and read about it.
Our lease is expiring soon. How much are they offering to lease now? You know you're surrounded by "monster" wells so be careful with lease agreements. You may live by your contract for years to come...
Would you believe Encana is seeking permits for THREE MORE wells today? All three show up with the BSI/USFS title. F9 is in A-273 & A-265, and is very close to A-274 F4 & F5 recently permitted. F10 is in A-268, A-628, and A-373, and is just north of A-268 (Z Redmond) that was just permitted. F11 is in A-628, A-373, and A-8, bottom hole maybe 1/3 mile west of A-398 that came in big (well will be about 1 mile south of A-398). Starting to see a pattern here with Encana - put your new wells within 1/2 mile of older wells, but drill in the opposite direction (applies to F9 and F10, F11 is in the same direction as A-398)

Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
