Thanks for that Jim. I don't have a bad image of the oil and gas industry. I know she is just a lone ranger. I have had wonderful experiences with Encana over the past week. Even the receptionist was friendly and took the time to get me to the right people.

I've said previously, I don't need this money. I make a decent living (if you don’t factor in the student loans) and I don't put my happiness in money. I would much rather be poor, ugly and happy then rich, pretty and unhappy. I didn't consider suing or trying to get more money because of my cousins situation. First of all, it's not my situation to sue about. Second, no harm has come to me. Yes, I feel empathy for my cousin and yes I will help, but any further action will have to come from her and her guardian.

The situation is close enough to me to be upset and voice my thoughts here. I really bothers me when people take advantage of situations or people. I was so upset and mad when it happened, I broke out in hives.

So, my complaint is the manner in which she behaved. Yes, you are correct; if there is nothing filed in the court, my cousin is just as legal as you or I; but there is paperwork from the state. I guess the landman was just trying to build up numbers; but I wish she would have listened to us and gave us a little time to locate the paperwork they needed.

I'm at the point where I've done what I can. As of now I am going to sign the lease addendum the attorney (that I'm paying for) and Encana created for all of us.
